68 & 76 East Huron - Bookstore Lofts
This project reimagines two adjacent historic structures — a former storage facility and an early 20th-century housing building — as a unified mixed-use development in downtown Buffalo. By combining the distinct character of both buildings, the design creates a cohesive and vibrant new destination that honors the site’s architectural heritage while adapting it for contemporary use. I led the conceptual design and programming phases, shaping the project vision, massing, and spatial strategy before the detailed design was completed by the subsequent team. The project was ultimately prepared for sale, offering future developers a compelling foundation rooted in historical context and modern potential.

Existing Site
Located in the heart of downtown Buffalo, this site sits at the intersection of the city’s historic fabric and its evolving future. Once home to a 20th-century storage facility and a residential building, the area had long fallen into disuse, with both structures abandoned and deteriorating over time. As part of a larger urban revitalization effort, these buildings were carefully demolished to clear the way for a new mixed-use vision while simultaneously introducing much-needed parking to support surrounding developments. The cleared parcel now provides a flexible foundation for future projects and public use, while still honoring the site’s architectural lineage and its role within Buffalo’s historic downtown grid.
