Tucked beneath the streets of London, The Green Line / The Loo reimagines a disused historic public bathroom as a moody, atmospheric speakeasy. This competition proposal transforms a forgotten piece of civic infrastructure into a hidden social space — blending the site’s Victorian-era details with contemporary design language. Guests descend below ground into a series of intimate rooms, where arched tile vaults, warm light, and curated materials turn the once utilitarian into the unexpected. More than just a bar, The Loo is an exploration of how architecture can reclaim overlooked urban remnants and weave them back into the cultural fabric of the city.
